This fall, some groups in the metro area are hoping that drive along commuters will choose to make a small change in their habits: a small change that can make a profound difference. Leaving the car at home even just once a week can affect congestion, air quality, and commuters' expenses.
The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), the Regional Transportation District (RTD) and other partners have launched RideSmartThursdays, a three-month campaign that began August 1. The campaign encourages commuters to commit to getting to work by some method other than driving alone in their cars, one day a week. Participants can carpool, vanpool, take transit, bicycle, walk or even work from home, pledging to do so for the campaign's duration on the RideSmartThursdays web site.
Thursdays are typically the busiest day on Colorado's roadways, so do your part to cut down on pollution and congestion here in the metro-area by taking the pledge to reduce your driving today!
Log on to www.RideSmartThursdays.com to take the pledge.
